Emerald Junior Brigade

The Junior Brigade at Emerald was something of a 'first' in Victoria.

Since those early days, the Junior Brigade has grown in strength and today boasts 14 members, making it one of the largest in the hills.

The Juniors are organized on the basis of having their own 'Captain' and other officer positions which is an effective training process.

TRAINING

All training is carefully overseen by officers and firefighters from the senior brigade. Subjects covered include survival, firemanship and use of all the equipment. Though the Juniors do not attend fires, the training given familiarizes the Juniors with experience and knowledge of the running of a Brigade, use of equipment and carries this knowledge into the senior ranks.

Each year, annual awards take place to award these dedicated youngsters. Thanks to all officers and firefighters for their dedication to the Junior Brigade. Without them, there would be no Junior Brigade.

The Emerald Junior Brigade are always looking for new recruits for their ranks.

Training on Tuesday evenings. (Except school holidays).

If you between 11 and 16 years of age, come and join a great group of Junior Brigade members and dedicated senior fighters who supervise the training.
